
I apologize for getting this in so late, but it is important to pay respect to lost loved ones.
Clara M. (Porter, Stradwick, Carter) Pryer left this earth on March 20, 2008 at Akron City Hospital after a long illness.
Clara was born on September 1, 1939 in Georgianna, Ala., and was a long time resident of this community.
Preceded in death by her parents, James and Eddie Porter; sister, Dorothy Porter; brother, James Porter, Jr.; and daughter, Eddie Renee; she leaves to cherish her memory, devoted daughter, Denise Bowers (Thomas McNear); sons, Don (Carmilla) Carter and Michael (Kimberly) Carter, all of Akron, Ohio. In addition, she leaves 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2008 at 12 Noon at Providence Baptist Church, 458 Madison Ave., with Rev. Howard Harris officiating and Bishop Marc Neal eulogizing. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 432 Fernwood Dr., Akron 44320.
